This book focuses on helping you see themes in scripture that are played out over and over from Genesis to Revelation and how those themes tie all of the individual stories together. It brought me to a new understanding of specific bible stories that I'd read many times before. I have done this study with two different groups and it was highly rated by both.
From the perspective of a very young Christian (I came to know Christ as my personal Savior in September 2003 at the age of 59) I found this study to be such a blessing. Barbara Markland, clearly led by the Holy Spirit, has created a study that provokes your curiosity in a profound way, answering questions and connecting details that leave you with a clearer understanding of God's principles and truths for His people. This study provides the glue that sets many Bible details in place creating an amazing picture of God's unfailing love for His children. I loved it!
I took this study under Barbara and loved it. I have taught it twice and both times the women loved it. If you want to understand the whole Bible - and get the big picture - this is for you. Beginners and advanced students alike will be blessed.
Barbara connects the threads of Bible stories to help us see the tapestry of God's story in the people and places of the Old and New Testaments.
SO FUN to see it come together . This study had "ah-ha" moments as the pieces of Scripture clicked together in a fresh way.

I encourage parents and grandparents to read this in preparation for honest questions from the little ones and the teenagers that you love.
DO NOT MISS THE COMMENTARY FOR EACH CHAPTER THAT IS IN THE BACK OF THE BOOK! They give you information to chew on after you have turned your off!!!
Recently, I had the joy of vacationing with our family.. I had five of Barbara's "I want to understand the Bible" books with me to give as gifts.. I had studied it, and found it tremendously helpful for new Bible readers, and those more familiar with God's Word. My family were each delighted to finally have a study that they WANTED to do.. One of my daughter-in-laws began the study immediately and will keep me informed of her progress I am sure.. I have been studying the Bible for years, but never discovered so much truth in any other study, because Barbara shows us Jesus from Genesis to Revelation which is exactly where He is.. The Bible is a love story written personally to each of us, and Barbara brings His love to life..read it and enjoy how He can change your life.
